(OVERVIEW)
As Banyan Communications approached its 30th anniversary, the agency saw an opportunity to modernize its brand while celebrating three decades of creating change for good. I led the refresh of the company's brand guidelines, developed a commemorative 30th Anniversary identity and style guide, and translated the updated brand into an immersive experience for Banyan's Summer Affair—an open house and networking event designed to bring clients, partners and the community together. The work balanced celebration with strategy, creating a more contemporary brand system that reflected Banyan's evolution as a human-centered creative consultancy.
(THE CHALLENGE)
The challenge was to evolve Banyan's visual identity without losing the credibility and trust it had built over 30 years. As a cause driven agency, Banyan needed to communicate warmth, optimism and creativity while avoiding a look that felt overly playful or limited to the public health sector. The anniversary identity and experiential event also needed to celebrate the agency's legacy in a way that felt elevated and professional, appealing to existing clients while signaling that Banyan's expertise extends across industries and audiences.
(OUR APPROACH)
I refreshed Banyan's brand guidelines to create a more modern, flexible system that could support the agency's continued growth while maintaining consistency across every touchpoint. To commemorate the milestone, I designed a custom 30th Anniversary logo and accompanying style guide that ensured the mark could be applied confidently across digital, print and environmental applications. The celebration culminated in Banyan's Summer Affair, where I extended the refreshed brand into an experiential environment inspired by the energy of a summer carnival. Thoughtful environmental graphics, signage and branded moments created an experience that felt welcoming, memorable and distinctly Banyan, reinforcing the agency's values of connection, creativity and community without compromising its professional reputation.
(RESULTS & IMPACT)
The refreshed brand system gave Banyan a stronger visual foundation for its next chapter, providing clear guidance that improved consistency across marketing materials, campaigns and internal communications. The 30th Anniversary identity became a unifying symbol throughout the celebration year, while Banyan's Summer Affair transformed the agency's office into an engaging brand experience that celebrated its legacy and strengthened relationships with clients, partners and employees. Together, the work demonstrated how a cohesive brand system can extend beyond guidelines into meaningful, real world experiences that leave a lasting impression.
